There are many dwellings in Dublin’s historic centre which do not have the option of a brown bin collection service for food waste due to the city’s tight urban grain. Faced with this issue following a move to Dublin 08, we began composting our own food waste rather than sending it to landfill. We documented the process of establishing a wormery in our rear yard over the course of a 1-year period and prepared the following report on our findings for Dublin City Council.
